COMIBAM Participants Pray Over the Fundación Social El Encuentro

COMIBAM selected the Fundación Social El Encuentro (FSE) to host a group of congress participants as part of their Missions Afternoon, a featured activity where groups visit model organizations and churches who are impacting their communities for Christ.

FSE was chosen by event organizers for our peace program called “El Encuentro con la Paz” (‘Embracing Peace’), that works in communities of people internally displaced from the conflict.

A group of missionaries and missions leaders from 14 different countries accompanied our team to Verbenal de Quiba to visit our community kindergarten. On the drive, we discussed the war in Colombia, the end of the armed conflict and the impact the conflict has had on communities of people who were forcibly displaced. Upon arrival, we presented our Gospel-inspired vision of working for the transformation of communities, making the Gospel real by restoring social cohesion through our work with families and children.

At the end of the visit, we all lifted up our voices in prayer for the church’s ministry, for FSE’s projects, for the women who work in the community kindergarten and for the families in the community; and, two missionaries prayed especially for our kindergarten coordinator, Alejandra, who was in need of comfort and healing.

COMIBAM is the Ibero-America Mission Congress, a congress that mobilizes thousands of missionaries, academics, international students, churches and organizations to preach the Gospel to all nations.
